Systematic Problem Solving

Deviations, CAPA & Systematic Problem Solving

Recurring deviations and quality problems often require a structured approach to identify the actual root cause and define effective corrective and preventive actions.
I can support organisations with investigation and resolution of deviations, recurring problems and other quality issues across Quality, Operations and R&D.

Areas of Support

  • Deviation investigations
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • CAPA
  • Systematic Problem Solving
  • Facilitation of cross-functional problem-solving activities
  • 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Definition and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Effectiveness checks
  • Improvement of deviation and CAPA processes
  • Training and knowledge transfer

Structured Problem Solving

The appropriate method depends on the nature and complexity of the problem.
For recurring or more complex issues, I use structured approaches such as 8D to ensure that the problem is clearly defined, the root cause is identified and corrective actions address the underlying issue rather than only the symptoms.
I have experience facilitating cross-functional investigations and supporting teams in moving from problem identification to sustainable corrective actions.

Practical Approach

My focus is on creating a structured and proportionate problem-solving process that supports both compliance and effective resolution of the issue.
The objective is not only to close a deviation or CAPA, but to reduce the risk of recurrence and ensure that improvements are embedded in the relevant processes.
If you would like support with deviations, CAPA or a recurring quality problem, you are welcome to contact me.
